As the recession continues, more and more people are looking for ways to add extra income to their household, or even to pursue a full time career on the internet. It is easy for people to believe that the internet bears a ‘get rich quick’ solution and these folks search for it on Youtube or Google (or any other respective search engine) not knowing what waits for them.
Not everyone on the internet is there to help you, and some people will take advantage of you because they see you as a sheep that will pay for information. The truth of the matter is that that information can be outdated, ineffective, or just a simple scam.
A scam that took the internet by storm in the early 2000s was a pyramid scheme that seemed like a great way of making money simply because most people do not understand what pyramid schemes are or how they work. Internet browsers were presented with a system that required them to send five dollars through PayPal (online payment processor) to the five people on the list. After sending the five dollars, these people were promised to be put on that list and also encouraged to start their own. What happens is that money is being transferred until the pyramid disassembles and those on the bottom lose money. This isn’t limited to the five dollars listed above; some people lost hundreds of dollars in the process.
Since then, scammers had to find a new method of getting money. If you have an e-mail account, chances are you have gotten an e-mail from an African king or something of that nature, stating that millions of dollars have been transferred to you and they just need some of your information. A million dollars sounds nice, doesn’t it? Making money on the internet doesn’t work that way. It actually requires work. You must read whatever you can get your hands on and you must keep up with methods that are working at the moment.
The best way you can make sure that a method works is to read up on it. Do not just go on the first website that Google puts up and assume that the site will have your interests at hand. Read up on it! Forums are usually the best place to look for other people’s opinions and/or experiences.
Stay as safe as you can on the internet, find people that are willing to genuinely help you achieve your goals while maybe achieving theirs, and be ready to sacrifice a lot of time in front of that monitor because success requires hard work.
