Myspace is a big social networking website that used to be number one before facebook took over. Still myspace is very popular and has over 150 million active users that use myspace daily. With those many active users there is a potential market for selling layout designs, since myspace has a special feature that users can design their pages and add cool features. This is where you come in selling designs to those users.
To become successful with this and make money you should have a decent amount of photoshop and logo designing skills to create many layouts. But you may ask this question, How will i sell them? The answer is simple but will require work of course. The best way to sell your layouts and find potentiol clients is to open your own website or blog and sell your designs through there.
Getting started requires little investment, a domain, and a web hosting company. I would recommend http://www.puphost.com/ as it is cheap and perfect for a blog or a website and even an ecommerce store. Designing your website is not that hard either, if you bought hosting from puphost.com then they have a software that will install a blog with 1 click. I would install a wordpress blog since it is seo awesome and will get your ranked high with all those free plugins and very easy to get designs since there are free templates everywhere for wordpress.
Once that is done start adding your myspace layout templates on your blog for sale or for free. If you would want to sell them then you need a merchant account. I would use paypal and google checkout, since both of them are very popular payment gateways. When everything is ready make sure to double check that everything will be perfect before promoting your website. Also if your going to sell your templates for money be sure to not over price them. No one, well at least not many will pay $50 for a myspace layout design….. I think, but you will never know until you will try.
Now all is done you can promote your blog, doing backlinking, advertising, submission to sites like reddit, digg and etc… You can also hire a seo company to promote your website and rank it higher in search engines. Just know that the only way to succeed with this is to do everything the right way… long term, and hard hard work.
